Similiar to tags or #hashtags used on other platforms, tags are used on Trummi to associate or categorize information under a certain topic. The difference is that here at Trummi, tags are more personal to you. Trummi encourages you to add tags that describe you, your ideas and opinions, your interests or anything important to you that others should know when meeting you.
Users are automatically matched when they share the same tags so the more tags you use to describe yourself, the more likely you are to find others that have things in common with you!
We encourage everyone to use tags they feel comfortable sharing with others. Trummi supports freedom of expression for all but tags used with the intent to cause harm or incite fear goes against what Trummi stands for and is not permitted. Let's keep Trummi a safe place for everyone by avoiding tags that may be offensive to others.
Trummi matches users who share the same tags, so without them, it becomes a lot more difficult to build friendships with like-minded people.

Making tags private does not prevent your profile from appearing in search results for users that share one or more tags with you.
